Derived from our combined nicknames (Su-mi), a partial Arab root (Ya يا), our chosen home (Berlin, hence the "Kino"), as well as when we usually watch and discuss movies (way too late at night), Kino Oyasumi (おやすみ) is the place we're gathering our combined ramblings and somewhat absolutist judgements.
Human opinions and writing only, despite occasional sympathy for the working class robot (e.g. Arco (2025)).

Aspiring academic in the British cultural theory tradition who enjoys, in his free time, Takeshi Kitano's 1990s filmography just a tad too much. Also thinks Disco Elysium and Outer Wilds are two of the greatest videogames ever made.
Mariam
Has strong opinions on Christopher Nolan and what qualifies as a "war movie". Can and does enjoy things, despite the criticism that immediately follows.

We write under that name for our combined/co-authored reviews, which is the majority of them. You'll notice we still use "I" there - think of it as the opposite of the Royal we. A Peasant I, if you will.
